Workshop Highlights

  • This 6-hour web-based training course is designed for personnel that are beginning a root cause certification program or would like to develop a strong understanding of root cause and apparent cause analysis fundamentals.

  • The course explains the skills needed to solve problems involving human performance, equipment failures and organizational and programmatic breakdowns.

  • Participants are introduced to our modern and revolutionary BlueDragon Hyper-integrated Causal Analysis approach, which allows us to complete even the most complex root cause analyses with amazing speed and accuracy.

  • The 6-hour workshops are held from 9am until 4pm EDT with a 1-hour lunch break.

  • Classes coincide with Day 1 of our 4-day workshops, BD-201E.

What is Covered in the 6-hour Workshop

Given a course of instruction, prospective root cause practitioners will be able to:

  • Understand the regulations (laws) that require root cause analysis.

  • Understand the complex, human-centric problems that cannot be solved by math and science alone.

  • Understand basic terms and definitions used in the problem-solving process.

  • Understand the fundamentals of Critical Thinking and its importance in the problem-solving process.

  • Understand the universal approach to solving problems and the graded approach to causal analysis.

  • Understand the fundamentals of Cause & Effect Analysis.

  • Understand the construct of the BlueDragon Framework and its ties to the Anatomy of an Event.

  • Understand BlueDragon’s Hyper-Integrated Causal Analysis (HCA).

Virtual Platforms / Requirements

  • We will be using Zoom, with its breakout rooms, to conduct the workshop.  In addition, you will be introduced to Mural, a powerful and easy to use virtual white board.  These two platforms have made it possible to have the same approach we have used successfully in the past; small teams working collectively on case studies, to maximize the learning.

  • The use of Mural, our virtual white board, has made it much easier to conduct assessments, investigations and root cause analysis when we cannot conduct meetings in person.

  • Prior to the start of class, you will be provided pre-workshop instructions on how to use Zoom, and a link to a practice Mural so you can get acquainted with the virtual white board.

  • Because this is an all virtual workshop, participants are required to have a web cam and microphone and be able to access Zoom and Mural through the internet.

  • Internet download speeds greater than 30 Mbps are highly recommended.
